Response to the statement on the Dalai Lama’s website
“Clarifying His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s Stand on Dolgyal/Shugden”
12th July 2015
To: The Office of the Dalai Lama, Tamdin Gyalpo
From: International Shugden Community Representatives
Regarding the above statement the International Shugden Community find that it is full of misleading and deceptive information to cover the Dalai Lama’s own faults.
Although recently three representatives of the International Shugden Community met with three representatives of the Dalai Lama and seemed to make some positive progress now the Dalai Lama is still giving false information publicly and it seems he is making this present problem worse.
The International Shugden community has nothing further to say. If the Dalai Lama offers to accept the below four points publicly then this problem will be solved. The four points are:
1. To allow anyone who wishes to practice Dorje Shugden the freedom to do so.
2. To stop completely the discrimination against Shugden practitioners.
3. To allow all Shugden monks and nuns who have been expelled to return to their monasteries and nunneries, and to receive the same material and spiritual rights as non-Shugden practitioners.
4. To write to Tibetan communities throughout the world telling them that they should apply practically the above three points.
Make no mistake about it, the Dalai Lama is first and foremost a politician. Though admired as the ‘spiritual leader of the Tibetan people’ in reality he uses this position as a veil to conceal his true actions and intentions, exploiting his celebrity status to further his own personal and political ambitions.
There is a vast body of well-documented evidence proving that away from the glare of the international media the Dalai Lama is a ruthless and corrupt politician who uses intimidation, humiliation and banishment to suppress those who do not abide by his authoritarian edicts.
Rather than being subjected to scrutiny and held to account for these iniquitous actions, the Dalai Lama enjoys a devious courtship with politicians, journalists and celebrities whose interests are served by their association with him. His elaborate public relations machine financed by the millions he shamefully earns from Buddha’s teachings exploits these relationships to protect him from public scrutiny and perpetuate the myth that he is a humble Buddhist monk who champions the cause of religious freedom and promotes the protection of human rights.
But while the world fetes the Dalai Lama as a great Buddhist leader the truth is that through his lies and deception he is destroying the spiritual heart of the Buddhist religion and transforming it into a vehicle for naked personal ambition and political gain…
Dear Friends,
The Directors and managers of the International Shugden Community have made the decision that from August 2015 we are going to stop organising demonstrations against the Dalai Lama. The reason for this is that until now all our demonstrations have been very successful and we have fulfilled many of our aims. Now is the time to take a break. We need to help financially the Shugden monasteries in Nepal, India, Tibet and other countries because they really need this help. Therefore anyone who wishes to give a donation or sponsorship to the above monasteries please contact Kelsang Zangmo ([email protected]) the daily manager for this project.
Yours sincerely
Len Foley
Representative of the International Shugden Community
We would like to offer the following two pieces of information with regard to the blog in the Huffington Post written by the Tibetan, Tenzin Dorjee.
(1) Given the string of similar and baseless articles appearing only in the Huffington Post, it is clear to us that this project of misinformation is created by Robert Thurman. Robert Thurman is a close friend of the Dalai Lama, the President and co-founder of Tibet House and a long time contributing writer for the Huffington Post. Sadly, Tenzin Dorjee is simply acting as the dog of Robert Thurman.
(2) The information presented in this blog is completely wrong, and we can only conclude that these are malicious lies.
Therefore, with this statement and through our demonstrations the International Shugden Community is publicly telling the Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman and the Tibetans who support them to “Stop Lying.” The Shugden Community has done this now for over 20 years, and yet Robert Thurman still does not understand - he is obviously a very ignorant man.
Supporters of the False Dalai Lama have prevented loyal followers of Domo Geshe Rinpoche who practise Dorje Shugden from entering Gaden Chöling monastery in Darjeeling to perform the 49th day death ceremony for the caretaker who cherished the monastery for decades.
So-called “Buddhists”, following the False Dalai Lama and CTA’s incitements to discrimination and hatred against their own countrymen, have gone so far as to prevent prayers being said for a faithful monk’s fortunate rebirth. This is a terrible example of the schism the ban on Dorje Shugden practice is causing within the Tibetan exiled community.
This letter was received yesterday (June 17th 2014) by a nun at a Kadampa Buddhist Center in California. It appears to have been sent from Oakland, CA, by four people with Tibetan names representing “The United Front of the Tibetan People”. It contains a clear incitement to violent action against “traitor Tibetans” and “foreign Dolgyal people” - people who have dared to stand up to and criticise the Dalai Lama and Central Tibetan Administration: “we must take strong and physical action against them” and “teach them lesson”.
Those threatened in the letter include the 34 Tibetans listed by the CTA on its website as “Dolgyal” protestors, as well as other Tibetan and western Shugden practitioners around the world. These people are innocent of any crime: all they have done is exercise their basic human right to free speech and their freedom of belief.
Responding to the CTA wanted list inciting violence against prominent Tibetan Shugden Buddhists, the ISC’s legal representative has written to each representative of the Tibetan Government in Exile. He has informed them that they will be held legally responsible for any harm that comes to these Shugden Buddhists as a result of the CTA’s actions.
The duty of a government is to care for all its citizens. The CTA does the opposite. The world is watching.

On May 21 the following appeared on the official website of the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA)
This information provided by the Dalai Lama is clearly an incitement to commit acts of violence against these twenty Tibetans.
We would like to publicly state that if any harm comes to any of these people the Dalai Lama will be held personally responsible.
The Dalai Lama has caused this kind of harm many times in the past, but this time the world is watching!
